LLY: My 05 is in big trouble!

The only good one that I have is of the head that is posted above. I also have a video of the gap between the rocker and the push rod but that is almost too difficult to watch. I'll see if I still have that one though.
I did go and look at it several times while it was open and observed a few things worth remembering. The very top 1 inch of the cylinder has a strange 'leopard print' at the top of the cylinders. It has some thing to do with preventing wear or heat treating of some sort or seems like I had heard that? The other thing that I noticed was that the cylinders had retained there cross hatching pattern in all 8. That seemed pretty amazing to me at 170,000 miles.
