Um, I think that was my friend in the background. My old man and mom think I'm just tearing up my truck. I just tell them its a lot easier on it to do boosted launches in the mud than on pavement! I've never burned a tranny (TC) up brakestanding and launching in the mud drags but I have on pavement more than once.
The cleanup is the worst. I was thinking today when I was washing it (It took 5 gallons of diesel in the hotsy to get it clean) that I should start a thread like Lennarts about guess how many lbs of mud I wash off my truck after a race. This time it was so bad my tires were back to rubbing like they did before the 6" lift.
Mine already has cow shit on it since its been washed :D You cant avoid those things....

I just wish you guys could hear some of the people I beat. There was one man that literally bitched for 45 minutes to get back into the race with just 1 loss (side-by-side, double elimination) because "Theres no way I lost to a diesel!" These guys have $20K motors themselves also running in "stock" class. There is a "street Stock" class below that for true stock vehicles.

As for the smoke, I think the more I raced the more smoke there was. Since its my DD, it took it a while to get used to dragging. I also didnt want to push my luck much more with smoke running in that class. The race before they made me race in Super Stock where I really got whupped up on---they were running 40" Super Swamper Boggers on big stroked motors, run on race fuel only. One of the other bitchers said that a stock diesel doesnt smoke like that---I told him a street stock one doesnt, a stock on does :D

OK, I know this post is long enough, but one quick question--
Everyone is always quicker off the line than I am. Sure they are running super swampers, but either way I still have some lag. I have been running in 4-HI with shifter in 3rd. I tried running in 4-LO 2 years ago with the bastard stack (Hot Juice and Quad) and it bursted so bad it wouldnt hardly run so I never tried it again. I ran the bastard stack in 4-HI with no problems and stayed that way. Is there or could there be any bursting issues with EFI? I am really tempted to try 4-LO again but with double elim I hate to give up an easy loss.... Would I still run the shifter in 3 or put it into D? I know I hit 3rd gear in 4-HI when racing, I'm just looking for a quicker jump off the line.

My brother ran his gasser chevy (pretty mild 400SBC) in the local mud runs and most of those guys ran it in 4LO. You can take that for what its worth to you.

As for the bursting issue you had previously. My understanding that is from either too much timing (pretty common with some of the old stacks) or more commonly from a fuel starvation. By your mods, I doubt you'd have that problem now provided your tuning is on par like it should be since its Team Salad tuning. :D

All that said and all I'm really tryin to say is, put that sum beetch in 4LO-D and let 'er eat.

No way it will burst.

I'd try 4Lo D too. You'll need all five gears for sure and might be past 4000 rpm at the end of the run in 5th.

Although, it is going to run up through the gears really fast. You might not even notice 1-3.

I'll give it a shot! Actually, they are talking rain again here tonight and if it does, I may just have to go hit an irrigation trail and do some test runs. :D
Thanks for all your help guys! I wish I had more videos but my memory card filled up on the 2 races and the FRUMBLE event that I just had to record after they had done 6-8 of them before....
