Looking to buy a box for my C/C ...............I want 2 tens , the MTX box has the most air space so far from comparing other pre-form/made boxes @ .75 CF , how many people have them ? How hard does it hit , and the most important how clean is the base ? thinking about getting the box and then upgrading the subs later . What Sub will work the best in that CF ? Its been so long since i have been into car audio i dont know what is good these days , other than JL , Kicker , Alpine ect ?

If I were you I would go to a specialty shop and just have them build you a box. They can get even more airspace than the MTX. Would probably be cheaper as well. As far as subs go, it depends on what you want and what you want to spend. If you are looking for sound quality I would stick to JL. Looking for more SPL type bass Rockford, RE Audio or T3 Audo would be best. Pioneer makes some very nice equipment in there premiere line now.

i have one kicker l7 in my cc an it freakn rocks......

Would you take a picture of your box? I would like to see it.

I have two MTX 10s in a 1.5 cubic foot box and it sounds good but the subs are right up against the back seat. Personally I would like to check out some of the thin mount subs to see how they do. My friend that works at Crutchfield told me JL Audio has a demo car with some of their thin mount subs in it and he said it sounded great.

I had a custom box built for my crew cab for under $400.00 bucks. It goes under the rear seats and is ported, down firing, with 2 Diamond 8's and a JL-250 pushing them. I originally wanted 12's, but after talking with the owner of the shop and hearing the system in his Audi he convinced me the 8's were the way to go with the limited airspace available. You would be surprised how hard a set of properly tuned (Quality) 8's hit;)

A guy at our shop has a 05 CC Dually Duramax and we removed the 40 side of the rear seat and put 1 Rockford Team RF 12 in. It really rocks. If I ever find a truck I plan on raising the rear seat and putting 2 10's under the seat in a ported box. But for a factory setup 2 8's ported under the rear is best. I have heard some 10's in a sealed enclosure that sounded pretty good.

Yes I will get pics of it.. Trent pm me if you need more info on a box.. My one 10 kicker is not a shallow mount.. It hits harder than any two tens I've ever had.. I used to have three 8's that sounded ok but they do not compare.. I prefer Rockford or kicker subs but I am a die hard Rockford amp guy. Hands down the best amps

I will , my only concern with under the seat box is i have heard the seats cant be folded down with the under seat box ? that the main reason i am wanting behind the seat . Thanks for the input guys , i have no problem with 8's i have heard some nice setups before .

I purchased my single 12" box from SuperCrewSound.com. It runs the full length under the seat. I have an Image Dynamics 4ohm DVC sub pushed by a Kicker 700.5. It really hits hard! I use the other 4 channels to run my door speakers. Got photos in my garage on DP.

I have 2 Hertz 12's in my truck. They are in a ported box behind the back seat. The downside was they had to move the back seat ahead 4" but WTF do I care-I don't ride back there!!:D

They make singles so u can fold one side down..... but any of the underneath boxes will not let the seats fold down.... Good luck. If you go behind the seat, you need to make sure the subs say they are shallow subs.

If your wanting 10's id recommend RE Audio Sl series 10's. The mounting depth on them is only 3" and RE makes some very nice stuff. That is what i will be switchin to when i get the time and money.

Single, down-firing Audiobahn 2000w sub. Has no problem runnin 1100rms all day. It will make car alarms scream. Seats fold down, even latch and i still have room behind the seat for my box of doodads. Built the sub box myself since I could get more cubic feet out of the usable space... right at .90 cf right now. Powered by a jbl 1200w single channel. Clean sound, lots of power and its out of the way.

Hey Wes. You can still lay down your seat also?. I know you said in your post you can. Just making sure I read it right. Both sides correct? If so, Do you have dimensions? Some pics of putting it together? Would be nice. It looks awesome. And clean.

I agree with the Rockford Amps... especially (when i was into it - might be different now) - the Power series amps. Very clean sound whether mono block or 4 channel amps... In fact i have about 6 amps of varying power levels / models - all Rockford - sitting in my garage now.... mono amps are probably a bit too much for most 8's or 10's though, but several good Component / rear fill amps....

Maybe we swing a deal Trent?? :D

Probably cost more to send them than they cost to make.... :D
All 3/4 MDF, so they a tad on the heavy side.

Not sure if you're talking about laying the back of the seats down, or just latching the seat bottoms. I can latch the bottom of both seats. The protrusion on the top of the sub box sticks up into the seat bottom, but even when I sit on it, I cant feel the box through the seat. Thats saying something since I'm somewhere around 300 lbs. :D

I can get dimensions, I just dont have access to the truck right now though. Heres a few pics of puttin it together anyway.

^^^X2 I have a couple L7's needing to be installed and I still want to lay my seat down for tools.

How deep are the L7's?? This sub is about 6" deep so the opening had to be at least 6 1/2" to leave the back of the sub access to breathe. I dont think I could have gotten a deeper sub to work though.

Just so you all know, this is based on a subthump box. Reason I decided to do my own is I only run one 10, their box is set up for two. I also wanted to make sure my speaker would fit since its pretty deep.
