MPI twins on Jewells LLY

I kinda thought the twins would be louder, but they are a lot quieter than the old Cheetah was, and the Cheetah is still sitting in the stock location

Its a Borgwarner thing Larry.

The garretts howl/shreik much louder. If you ride in a garrett-MPI twin setup and then go back to a Borg Warner MPI setup its really a letdown.

Now the garrett-twin setups whistle LOUD, as I said, but the sound is NOTHING like a loud cheetah. I find the cheetahs alone flat out obnoxious. Theyre like a dentist drill...just a RASPY cackley shrill sound. The big garretts that nathan uses on some of his twins just have a nice SMOOTH whoosh with a lower-pitched LOUD whistle on top of it.

I went from garrett MPI twins (sold them to a buddy) to my custom S480 twins that I built myself and I almost cried the first time I drove it. Couldnt beleive how quiet the whistle was from the big turbo. I used to get double-takes from everyone that I drove by, especially ricers and small cars, you could just see the "OMG WTF...turbo whistle much!!?!?" look on their face. Now they dont even notice when I drive by haha.

You guys are funny :rofl: I have never even cared , as long as the twins/turbo 's i have been using were working properly , EGT's were good and the HP was there, i could care less what they sounds like, if i want to make some one take a double look I just blow the tires loose on the freeway :cool2: for myself my truck doesn't have to "sound" fast, it just has to be fast :thumb: To each his own though , but i have to poke fun a little bit :hug:

Did you ever make it to the track Larry with the twins? I do think I saw a thread but in case I missed it I was curious what the improvement is. Why don't you get a video of what these cheetah mpi twins sound like
