Yeah I think so....it was a couple years ago.

Have you put a scope on that wire to check that its outputting a nice clean square wave?

I haven't yet, but I will now.

What year harness did you start with? Also, yes that is the wire, ESS is the only rpm communication between the ecm and ficm.

I believe it started as an '01.

Just in case anyone comes across this thread in the future, I got it to run. The problem was with the cam position sensor.

Wrong one or just a bad sensor Josh?

It was reading wrong I guess. It was showing no missed cam counts, but a new sensor made it fire right up. It's like it was throwing the timing way off or something.
