Well I blew mine too. I have been running my race tune for a while and I have a real heavy foot. I had a lift pump and a built trans too, so I guess there is no myth there they really do crack pistons. I have talked to Guy about sending it out there or maybe up to Burkhard. I can't find anyone around here that has even had one apart. I just moved into a new subdivision and already pulling my motor out in my back yard, my neighbors are going to hate me. I need to save any money I can so if any of you have any ideas that will help me please let me know. Thanks

Jeremy

Back to the matter at hand if your pretty mechanical minded its not that hard to tear your engine down and rebuild it yourself the hard part is getting all the darn body pieces out of your way so you can actually get to the engine. What I would do is have guy cut you some custom pistons and send your heads to him also to have them cnc stage 2. That way you should be garranteed that the dreaded crack want happen again atleast thats what I'm going to do in a few months so i don't have to see or hear that dreaded pow ha ha lol. Sorry bout the lost but that just means go wild with rebuilding the new engine.:D

I should have the motor pulled in a couple days I have most of it done already, I just have to go back to work tomorrow and I will only get to work on it in the evenings. I also have to go to our shop which is another hour from here to get the engine hoist but I am also going to get our forklift just in case I can't get it high enough with the hoist.

I was running one of Nicks race tunes and I had just installed the water/meth maybe 2 weeks ago. I had been trying it out and getting it adjusted so I had been going through a good bit of washer fluid. The most I had ran through it was like 38% though

Tommys tune was rediculous by any measure. He was well aware of what he was playing with. The LB7 tune is nowhere near that degree of madness.

I'm kinda wondering if the H20/meth gave it the exta push over the edge. How long were you running H20/meth Tommy?

never put a drop of meth in there just good ol glendale tap water :D there was mabey some residual +32 washer fluid in there but thts liek 2% meth or something. nothing i would acount for. and yes the tune i was runnign was not for :baby: :D And knew the truck could go at any time. and cant belive it lasted as long as it did

Yea, there are alot of other lbz/lmms running strong with good numbers not blowing up.

Even by itself, doesnt water alone build cylendar pressure? Shouldnt something have been accounted for and backed down just a tad?

I haven't seen the files on either truck since the kits were added.

The owners may tell you if they pulled timing or fuel on their own.

Any time fuel (meth in this case) is added to the intake air stream, timing should be lowered to keep things safe....

Of course, engine failures are full of 'should haves' and 'could haves'.
