there have been quite a few good threads lately dealing with engine builds. take some time to read up on them and come back in here with some detailed questions. specific questions are much easier to answer than a generic "what makes a good build"

These are two very good threads with a ton of good information in them.

good luck on your build! Be sure to update this thread as you decide which parts you're going to use and why.

Springs yes def worth there money , cam save your money and spend it on some Rods unless your planning on running higher RPM , or larger single turbo .

Is gettin the main line honed absolutely critical or is it just recommended? What are the prices that you guys paid to get it done just want to make sure this machine shop is in line with his prices

The mains are alittle tight from the factory. I will be running stock main bolts BUT the machine shop line honed and bored the mains to open up the clearance for oiling and clearance purposes. You still could run stock clearances but why go this far and skimp on a 150 dollars or so. Thats how i look at it.

That's the thing the machine shop wants to charge like 400 something to do it

I'M located in Clinton new jersey ,

So far iv decided to go with
carrillo rods
Mahle pistons with valve release
Hamilton springs
Arp head and main studs
And keyed stock cam

Missing anything important?
