Well The lady and I loaded up out four wheelers and went out to one of the timber properties our family owns and had a blast riding half of the day and mushroom hunting the rest. We didnt get to carried away but we came out of the woods with about five gallons of mushrooms:food: We cooked up two newyork strips, sweet corn and some morels for dinner and I am feeling like I over did the mushrooms:barf:. The way she makes them is so tasty.... dip em in egg and drop them in smashed ritz crakers and fry in butter. We gave mosts of them away to friends and I was just playing around on ebay and saw that they are being sold on ebay and not cheap

The morel itself actually tastes similar to steak when fried in butter. I prefer them battered and deep fried myself.

5 gal...wow! We found about 60+ this year, mostly black. The white ones are up now so the end is near.

I lived in Southern Oregon and use to hunt for the morels as a kid . We use to get loads of them . We would sell them to a few ladies down the road . Where I lived they grew all over the place . Usually around old dead logs and under timber growth . Was alot of fun . Crazy looking little boogers . Look like old holy wrinkled old man . They dont really look like something you would want to eat either . All the bugs and stuff that comes crawling out of them is interesting too . We soaked them in water for hours to get all the critters out of them .

Pretty damn tasty though once you get them all cleaned up and fried .

They look like something you would think cause hallucinations .

These things grew like mad up all the creeks off the rogue river . I grew up in a little town called Gold Hill . Just north of Medford in Oregon .
