I dunno...maybe we should just leave it alone? Ari turned out to be a bad person. Nobody will ever really be able to make sense of it.

Welcome to the site, Jeremy!

There most likely is more to the story, and we don't know enough to call him a bad person. Perhaps Newman slept with Squire's wife:confused: Just made up for an example, but it my eyes that would make it justified;)

And yes, it prob should be let go:D

What do you mean theres more and it should be left alone?

Dude gets in huge debt, HUGE debt.
trys to fake his death to collect insurance cash
gets caught in motel
kills himself cause hes a douche and cant step up to the plate for murdering someone.

Maybe it is that simple, but how do you know? From the media? Anything that the news says I would take 180 off:rofl:

Theres almost always more to every story....one of the biggest reasons I hate gossip:rofl::D

My point was that overall it was a sorry situation, and its really none of our business. He killed someone, then killed himself.
IMO, I really dont care what "circumstances" caused it and dont feel we have to debate the hows and whys. I'm not trying to be judgmental or anything, its just that some things really should be left alone.

idk i shook the guys hand in person and he helped me on my truck when he was here in town on something, that whole situation creeps me out, but knowing i shook his hand makes me want to know the story, sometimes just leaving stuff alone isnt good enough.

I talked with Ari on the phone several times and IIRC, I tuned his truck.

He seemed to be a great guy, but there is no doubt he did something that was both cowardly and disturbing.

I hung out with him one time for a little bit at a dyno/truck pull a couple a three years ago. EFI Live was still pretty new. He had it and was all the way over here in KY to test out his tuning and try his hand at pulling. The pull got rained out but he still ran on the dyno. Numbers weren't great as I recall. he was a nice enough guy though. Creeps me out that he did what he did. Proof that it's so hard to tell who is whacked out or not. More proof that its hard to be able to trust anyone.

You know I could take out "he killed someone, then killed himself" part and change it so the last part of the sentence read "it's really none of our business why the owners did it"

That's exactly how I and a few others felt about TDP crap but people around here couldn't seem to leave that alone either. This makes what... 2 threads on this subject? How much crap is their around here about the DP selling out and people being pissed and having no idea why they sold it, but not being able to just let it go and getting pissed when someone said to? ;)Maybe they were having money troubles too? Who knows and who cares, it's done.
How long did we, that didn't give a **** have to hear that stuff, and when we said something we heard "If you don't want to read about it, don't click on it dumbass." :D

Ari had friends around here, me included, and while I don't agree with what he did I have no idea why he would do it and I DO want to know more about it and maybe figure out why and try to understand.
If one of your long time friends killed someone would you just say, he killed someone, let it go no one needs to know or care why he did it. Or would you like to know why and try to find out what the circumstances were?

Who knows, maybe someone threatened his family and made him do it for some reason... maybe he just lost his mind and snapped... maybe god told him to do it... maybe he was abducted by aliens and they implanted a device in his brain and made him do it...
I don't care. Yes it's done and over with, but he was my friend and I'd still really like to know why it happened.

Don't take this as a bash as I'm not being judgmental either, just used the quote as a way to compare opinions. :)

I've always had trust issues, even with people I've known for a long time, and I didn't get that vibe from him at all. I laughed when I heard it at first because I thought they were messing with me. :(
Creeped me out pretty bad when I heard it was true though also.

Tell me about it, at the pc fair 3 years ago the first year they had it, he layed under my truck with me trying to help get my exhaust tip off so i could put on a turn down.

the person that i think had it worse was mark hucksdorf. that guy is about the same build as ari, maybe a little bigger, but he posted a comment about it a while back somewheres else. i just wish the wife would snap and tell the story!
