I got an e-mail from SoCal w/ the SEMA statement in it & a link to their petition. I signed the petition & got an email to confirm my signature but when I confirmed it, it said the petition had been removed or expired. When I signed it, it said there were 30 days left to sign the petition. Hmm.

I just signed it. My signature went through no problem. The petition said they need another 88,775 signatures by March 10th.

What we really need is a petition to disband the 'EPA'. They are INSANE. They stuff all this garbage down out throats, and if they had their way, they would require that all cow farts were collected, not allowed to get into the atmosphere. And that huge toxic spill they caused quietly disappeared, meanwhile they're raising a stink over vw and their 'cheating'.

If they want this junk on the vehicles, then they should be footing the bill to replace it when it goes bad, as well as the collateral damage caused by it going bad, if applicable. I am NOT paying a 3k+ repair bill to replace the egr and dpf on my wife's jetta next time it goes bad. It'll either get deleted or driven straight to a GM dealer for a new vehicle.

It will head north soon enough. There already cracking down on it in BC. Being Canadian residents, I don't think we can sign the petition.

US makes a majority of the parts. If we cant put them on our vehicles, why make any at all.

It's going to get worse for even us guys on the street, and you thought CARB was just an acronym related to just California, got news for ya. I received an email from Rick@Profab, he has to get a CARB EO number for his upipes and downpipes shipped to California and this is just a start of things to come.

There was thread recently by PPE about their downpipes and uppipes having a CARB EO number...
"The EPA has adopted the California emissions standards as a national standard by the 2016 model year[4] and is collaborating with California regulators on stricter national emissions standards for model years 2017–2025.[5] "
