Thats when it was cool I went To the monster truck pulls in 86' in Oakland CA The stadium was sold out,Beer was served in cans and bottles (2$), and everyone loved it . It is still cool but way way too choreographed.

I have an old VHS of the good ole days! Stuff like sled pulls, going across lakes floating, and hill climbs, those were cool! I like them old steet body/frame trucks on leaf springs:rofl: My FAV old truck was Kurt Dauphne's Excaliber, man that was a mean truck back then, towards the end of the old generation of trucks.:thumb:

Far as i can remember, they use stuff like Glides and TH-400's and so on for trannys. The major load is reduced down in the axle planatarys and gearing. Lot of those guys run Coan tranny stuff. Least now days. I get a kick watchin them turnin the brake rotors into glowing disks whippin sparks off em:rofl:

TX of course
I remember the old trucks from when I was a really little guy things have changed a lot. USA1 and big foot of course where my favorites. I miss the bogs and pulls, but Grave Digger during free style is very fun to watch too.

That dually at about 1:55 was cool. I had never seen Big foot10(?) with the really big tires ever do anything other then drive around before this vid. There was also a diesel Van IIRC it had a Detroit.

I remember the tractor pulls we pulled in around 1982 or 83 in texas they had the old monster trucks pull sleds and climb up on 2 cars and get out and wave and then drive off. There was even a giant three wheeler monster from the texas valley. That was the good ole days

Bogs, pulls, mud hill drags, and safety takes second to helping out your buddy in trouble. That's what it was all about back then from what I was told from the old boys that used to go and even compete!! Only thing really still around from them days is demolition derby's!!
