update :
adding a pic of pistons and ive added arp rocker studs to my list with Simons recommendationView attachment 13750

Looks good man:thumb: Guess thats why I never heard back from Todd today, he must have been busy with those pretty pistons:). Are they just De-lipped or cut aswell? Did Todd pin your oil pump? I never read anything about doing that, but while its apart maybe its a good idea:confused: While I am cluttering up your build thread with questions, care to elaborate on the need for ARP rocker studs?

the stock bolts are not high quality and iirc someone had a failure , just cant remember who . as simon said you can put in 8.8 grade 10mm bolts ,,,,, i tried finding some local but didnt have any luck that route . he wasnt working on the pistons they were already delipped and just got back from the coating company . he is going to be pinning the oil pump and i plan to tig the gear on water pump also . now if I could just get a price on billet inj hold downs :rofl::rofl:

Ok that makes sense now, I'm a little slow today:banghead: Guess I will have to talk to him about pinning my pump while he has it. Why must you tig the gear on the water pump:confused: Can't you just tac it with a mig? I know there was a thread somewhere about it, But I have no idea the name. I will be back to the machine shop friday afternoon if your around :hello:

On Edit, I found the water pump/tig thread, originally posted by McRat..

I have Mig'ed them so far with good luck on a few water pumps i have done , after having one come off after 3 weeks in a customers truck with a brand new pump, i wont install one with out welding it , one tip i would throw in ......................... I drilled 4 holes in the Cast gear around the edge of the shaft .so the weld would poor into the holes so if it didn't bite the cast all the way it still couldn't slip. Welding cast with standard welding wire is known to crack because the weld cools so much faster than the cast , i also pre- heated the cast gear to about 250 before welding to help with the issue , recommended pre heat for welding cast is 700 deg , but i didn't want to risk hurting the seals in the pump from that much heat .
