Just a guess, but budget $1000 for machining, $200 for balancing, and $800 for heads.

I just found myself in this boat. I haven’t pulled the engine yet but I have no compression in the #1 hole.
Thank you for the info, trying to make the same decisions. I have always wanted a 1k hp truck, but now that I have the excuse to rebuild, I find myself hesitating. It’s not a real good time to spend the money, unfortunately.
Does anyone know of a reputable machine shop or builder near western MT?
