My truck does the exact same think here at low elevation (400 feet). It falls on its face during shifts and after the 4-5 shift its like the tuning dies and goes back to stock for 5th and 6th gear. After I installed McRat's tune I didn't remove the finger stick I had installed, so I'm going to try removing that to see if anything changes. My truck shift like a manual now, good acceleration and then a full second of coasting during the shift and then accelerating through the next gear. Very weird and not confidence inspiring. Pat, I'm not blaming your tune (at least not yet ;) ), just giving some feedback in an effort to get my truck running right.

All's that needed to disable the fingerstick is to remove/cut the blue wire, just be sure and set EFI up to turn off the codes you might start throwing.

Ive seen Manual Trannie trucks that shift faster than that!

Look at your Torque Limited Injection Quanity (BO744) and make sure that your shift RPM is below the Trannie defuel RPM. OR move the T.L.I.Q defuel colum to a higher RPM. I could be wrong but I just dealt with what sounds like the same prob on a friends truck and its perfect now.

i think hes running PPE'S tuning? If so we found out even with stock chargers that our trucks would shift VERY unpredicted with ppe tuning...after going to efi live the shifts have been GREAT...i would personally try a good efi tune before blaming the tranny

Well, a special TCM fixed it, we had the special TCM on saturday at fontana, but then we found out the head gaskets were bad :(. But when did hit it, it hit all the shifts fast and hard, no lag in between shifts, then we put the old TCM back in, and it went back to extremely soft slow shifts.

Was it Joe's TCM?

I'm thinking that the Torque tables we use for 500hp tunes do not translate well for 600+ hp trucks

I'll be in Florida on Monday to tinker with Freighttrain, maybe we can come up with something.

I dont have alot of experiance with this craig but i think you are correct
good luck with the tuning on the train:)
