Sounds like fueling issues to me. That did not sound like a slip. The engine flat shut down during the shift.

There is something wrong with that truck. It can't come out of the hole very well and it smokes way too much.

when you're at the line, were you having a problem building boost? Like foot to the floor, it still wouldnt boost up and walk thru the brakes....foot off the brakes, truck rolls forward a foot then boom, takes off?

strange....these are very LLY-ish sort of issues. Ive never seen any "wierd" unexpected fueling problems like this on an LB7 (where the ECM is limiting fuel for no reason)

Are you running a stock TCM tune? We would need to see a data log of the run to completely troubleshoot this...

The problem was the 11000 ft DA.. Blue which doesn't smoke in CA was blowing enough smoke to block intersections keeping up with Super Diesel

PS- Did UPS drop something off to you today ?:rofl::rofl:

Listen to the shifts, I think something's wrong here, those were Baaaaaaaad shifts, Mike L. listen to the shifts and see what you think. Primarily listen to the 2-3 shift.

Sorry, I can't help. The microphone was too far from the shift solenoid. No really, that was a nice run. Sorry for the joke during a time of crisis. Still got the ford though.

Wow had to watch twice but your right. It's still a ford.

you must be giddy over your new toy, that was a dodge in the right lane ;)

Dodge and ford look the same to me looking in the rear view. I had no idea I had to be so specific. After a second look your right, DODGE. OOPS first time I've been wrong..... That I admitted to that is.

Oh that's right a Dodge sets on your property???

If you want to be real specific, there are also two fords :joker:, four dogs, three teenagers, a wife and a cat. :D

A log would definetly help but looks like the same problem I had which was fuel/timing related.

I'm wondering if this is the same problem that some of the big HP LB7's are having. I'm thinking that the Torque tables we use for 500hp tunes do not translate well for 600+ hp trucks. Freighttrain and Brewmax have both alluded to heavy defuel during some shifts.

I'll be in Florida on Monday to tinker with Freighttrain, maybe we can come up with something.

I too am pretty sure I'm having fueling problems on the top end...but I'm only running one cp3. It just seems to not rev enough and I fall off the turbo on my 3-4 shift and every shift after that.
I wish I could find a tutorial on how to log a run and what I need to log for sure.....I'm still pretty new at this EFI live stuff.....

My truck does the exact same think here at low elevation (400 feet). It falls on its face during shifts and after the 4-5 shift its like the tuning dies and goes back to stock for 5th and 6th gear. After I installed McRat's tune I didn't remove the finger stick I had installed, so I'm going to try removing that to see if anything changes. My truck shift like a manual now, good acceleration and then a full second of coasting during the shift and then accelerating through the next gear. Very weird and not confidence inspiring. Pat, I'm not blaming your tune (at least not yet ;) ), just giving some feedback in an effort to get my truck running right.
