All your brace will do if you have a issue is hold some of the broken pieces together.

Correct.
Braces will not do squat for support. What they will do is hold the broken pieces of a shattered transfer case in suspension and keep them from falling on the track where the rear tires can run over them at high speed.
The braces will NOT save anything from breaking.

I never knew that, I had a brace on my last 07 thinking it would save the tail housing...

Question....with the billet extension housing not breaking...where does the driveline problem now transfer to? The bellhousing as my brothers LBZ experienced?

Most people that have had broken tail housings chose to ignore the vibration.
When you feel something wrong, and you will, fix it. Don't ignore it and put it off.
An anvil can be a weak link if you continue to let it vibrate.

If you get to the point you let a driveline issue hurt the bell housing then you earned your repair bill.

On edit: Mike beat to it but worded it much better.

I have several duramax work trucks that my guys drive in addition to mine. After reading this thread today I looked at some service records and discovered that we have busted 5 tailhousings, one rear engine plate, and one bellhousing in the last two years just in our small collection.

I'm positive that none of my guys would stop driving if they felt a vibration. Most of the time my trucks have a loaded trailer hooked to them and they are off the road in a field or hopping a curb.

If you have to ask, it's more than you can afford muahaha, see what I did there lol

Most of the time, you are right!

It's like those billet rear engine plates DHD sells. If they were more like $800, I would have one on every truck that has broken a stock one. Since they are $2K each, I own zero. :(

You misunderstood me. My brother did not cause the damage to the bellhousing on his LBZ. The previous owner did as can be seen in my thread called Trans carnage. He bought the truck with that problem. My question was not related to fixing a vibration issue, it was where would the problem show up if an adapter wouldn't break? My guess was the bellhousing and I was seeing if others agreed or had a different idea.

You misunderstood my question as well and the genuine nature of the question.

If I was drag racing I would have one. Anyone that drag races or sled pulls should have one.

Sometime keeping shit from putting you into a wall at high speed is a good idea ;)
