I'm wondering if we might be able to put the fuel tank from the LMLs on the older trucks. Probably a long shot, but 26 gals is ridicules and I don't like titans. A semi easy swap off a LML would be nice when they start hitting the salvage yards.

I haven't spent a lot of time under the LMLs, but with an all new frame, I would be very surpised if the new tank would fit under the old frames. Crossmembers and mounting points would likely not work out.

I had mine up on the hoist and your right everything is different. I didn't know it had a bigger tank untill my first fill up, I was so happy.

The frame and cross members like Josh said are crazy differnt. Tank design too. I seriously doubt it would fit without heavy modification.

Henry posted a pic of a half LML and half LMM chassis from sema, you can see some of the changes in that pic. I dont remember where that pic is but I didnt take one when I was at sema.

no the LML's have a 36 gallon tank. ALL of them do. Not just the long beds.

So the LML trucks got bigger fuel tanks all around. Short beds got a 10-gallon-bigger tank and long beds got a 2-gallon-bigger tank.

I kind of figured. I'm sure GM didn't pull only doing a 26 gal tank out of thin air and if a reasonable larger tank could fit in its place titan would of done so.

Right now I'm filling up every other day to go to work. Partly because I'm picky and cheap on where I get my fuel and I can't make a third round trip without being on fumes.

hmmm it might be a closer fit than I initially thought.

Before I just assumed "not a chance", but after looking more closely at those pictures IMO its a "definitely maybe, but I would need to have a tank sitting right here to figure it out for sure if its feasible or not"

Thanks Henry

Not going to happen without moving the cross member that holds our fuel cooler or hanging the tank a lot lower. In the third pic you can see cross member starts out a lot higher. I think the body would depend on the layout of the bed cross members.

Oh well:(

What about custom spacers between crossmember and tank, and use current straps to hold? Tank looks to be taller/wider than previous, not longer. You can always make a new bracket to hold the fuel cooler if need be.

It looks possible to me. I'd love to get an entire rolling chassis and swap my 03 and LBZ body on to it.

Am I do only one that thinks the dudes in the pic look a little odd? Especially the dude in the Mustard colored shaw thing...

theoretically, you could probably put a 01-07 classic GMT-800 body on an LML frame.

Because the LML and LMM bodies are the same (thus have the same mounting points)

and the LMM's and the 2001-2007 classic trucks have the same frame (and cab mounting points) as the LMM's.....

As far as I know. I might be wrong, but I dont think they ever changed
