ive said it before and il say it again in all the folks ive debated/argued with jolly and contempt with over the net,never meet anybody in person that i didnt like...
Never been stabbed in the back by a friend after 25 years? You live next door to him now. You farm his property. Maybe after losing all his friends you might be ok. Maybe he changed. Maybe your next.

there's def not much sharing these days , not sure why other than people getting bashed for thinking outside the box / norm, a lot of key board experts these days , i have wondered if any one is building stuff any more as quite as its been , my threads will start again soon , got a lot of cool idea's for this winter , and as usual most (95 %) will be public . as for the tuning discussions :popcorn: this one is going old school ..................

Thinking outside the box keeps things going. New ideas, setups, and parts created is what is needed for the sport. I've been privileged to have gotten help from Rob and George in the past. Alot of info was shared to me they didn't have to. I got alot of respect for the both of them. Those kind of people along with others like them are needed but when hard work, testing and everything else that goes along with it gets taken by someone and used for profit makes these types of guys close the doors of info. Any info you share Trent, there are guys like myself that love seeing the new things or ways that things come to life. I'm always thinking and keep an open mind on performance ideas. There are more key board, band wagon exsperts than ever before. Sometimes web sites can be like high school clicks. I like the guys that come up with new ideas or try different things even if it fails. We can learn alot from them. I will agree with Mike's comment about the whores.

I can see that side of it and i am talking more about the general hot rodders than the business's/ shops, i can understand certain idea's of new products or designs being held back. The stuff i show this winter will be some pretty cutting edge turbo info and if guess all i can hope for is if it is used for profit guys will know where the design originated and hope for the best , but I refuse to shut down and stay quite.

All I'll say is that I wish I had some of the tables that I saw.

Why does posting thoughts on this forum seem to get countered by certain people, even though spoken from real world experience and not internet theory's?

"Tables for staging" I have seen D'Amico take near 30 seconds to stage on the line with TTS tuning possible that the tuner doesn't know what he is doing or those missing don't really do jack Shit?

X2 no tuning in the world can fix spooling if the turbo is stupid big .


on a diferent note if if you read through this thread there are alot of post made in fun which is good , and some are down right rude or have hidden agenda , and others dont have a dog in the fight like myself , but man when are people going to start treating each other on the internet just like they would in person people being smart asses , rude , ect is one of the big reasons things are they way they are , is it really that hard to be decent ?? this site has the very smartest people in the whole sport on it , all building awesome machines , all having more knowlege than they know what to do with and we can bairly do 2 threads a day in hard parts section ? Its because most are sick of the BS, and its not worth the effort because it does take effort, its not easy documenting a build . something to think about when you are typing a response to some one or wondering were all te tech has gone , hell i see alot of guys posting more tech on comp D than here ? thats saying something when they would rather deal with the dodge guys than here ................................. bottom line if you want the site to be better or what it used to be then shape up , if you dont care continue on if you do the answer is easy :)

One of the best posts I've ever seen on a diesel forum. Everyone should at least think about some of the points in it before posting something negative or just plain asinine.

Other wise I'm gonna have to see if my 'tuner' is available. No fan of the Soup Man!

What i would like to know is, When did ECM tuning in the dmaxes start (not the preloaded hypertech or quad stuff) and what all came out to be an competitive tuner for the drag racer?

The only one at the time was TTS. If you could get one.

But actually The pre-loaded stuff was changing calibration. If I recall the Duramaximizer was a pressure box dial. As Jess said Bully Dog had the first calibration exchange downloader I believe. I forget when Diablo came in . What was nice about Diablo was it retained your stock calibration which saved a lot of peoples ass me included when the other loaders locked up and your vehicle was screwed other than contacting a dealer.

Im no tuning expert, nor will i put down anyones tuning, but here i see too much fuel down low, im not sure if its the driver, or the tuning, ive lit some pretty decent sized singles pretty easily, even with stock heads. From my experience if your black smoking that hard on the line, your putting the fire out, thats what i like about the hood stack. When im staging if any more than a light haze starts coming out, the egts will start to drop and i back off, ive taken some time to spool too, never a minute though. Im stepping up in turbo size next year, so im sure spooling will get much harder, I would like to try a 4718 sized with an auto, i know im having problems overspeeding a 45now, we shall see.

I have had also bad spooling issues. It is not tuning related, more I think it is because of huge cam that dont work well under 2000 rpm.
It just is thing I have to live with, and when I get rpms over 2000 all is good and fast.
I contact suncoast and ask if they can make converter that allows higher rpms in line, so spooling would help a lot.

Nick's tune at AV behaved the same in 2008 and 2009. The classic too much fuel, too early, in the boost curve. You have to retard the timing and fuel to light big chargers. Once it lit, it ran solid. In 2008, I thumped him pretty hard though with an LLY running EFILive. In 2009 a EFILive customer of mine whupped him solid too.

The TTS Extreme was a very good tune for racing back in the day. But there was no LLY/LBZ followups that were worth mentioning. The TTS LBZ tune at AV was very bad.

If you can't adjust your tune for equipment changes and track conditions, you are at a handicap today. Nick D'amico pretty much proved that.

I don't mean to speak for Rob, but it seems to me that you always have an opinion on everything. Unfortunately, sometimes your opinions seem to be formed on what you have read/heard rather than real world personal experience. When you post something that is completely counter to what someone else has posted and knows to be the truth because they have actually done it or seen it, it is basically like you calling them a liar.

Not to sound like an asshole, but maybe rather than coming on the internet acting like you know it all, you should work on actually accomplishing something.
