Your looking for the easy way to do this, there ain't.

Grab an extra cab, split the original where ever you want added length and start graphing it in. Interior trim panels will need to be custom made or graphed.

Going to take a good fabricator/body man/ and tons of planning

Actually I was just looking for anything at all.what you just said is the only solid information I've been given at all. Were not looking for an easy way we're looking for literally any helpful info we can get. My friend with the truck owns a fab shop and he will be doing it. He already has a idea on what he wants to do. He has another cab already actually a whole totaled truck.

Like I said he is stripping the truck down tomorrow. When I get off I'll be helping. The main issue right now on paper is the interior trim and head liner. The upholstery shops around here ain't the best.

Somebody around here has a mid 90s extended cab Dakota that they're cut the back off of it and added a full other extended cab portion. So there is a door then the original extended cab with a window then a little bit of metal then another window. They even shortened the bed. No clue about the inside. But if it can be done on that then it can be done on about anything lol the headliner shouldn't be too terrible. And the trim pieces may be a pain but I think both you could probably mold a piece like the stock one with fiberglass or something and paint the trim. Not sure how the headliner is in these trucks but most vehicles is just molded cardboard. Also gonna be interesting seeing how he lengthens the frame and driveline just a tad. Or maybe he's gonna do a bit shorter bed:confused: either way. If it's done right it'll look pretty cool.

Thing is, there's maybe one person in the history of this board who's ever even contemplated something like this. So there's really no info to give. We just dont know.
As James said, he's going to be making a lot of custom parts. I personally dont see how it would ever look good, even if done by an excellent fabricator, let alone be worth the time and effort simply for an extra 12" of space.

I think it would probably be easier to make it a six door.

Good luck with it though. Crazy to cut up a '15 for a project like this.

Ya were still contemplating the headliner and interior. As for the frame and driveline he wants to lengthen both.

Ya I've tried to tell the guy lol. But he is dead set. I think it will look good but like you say it's an awful lot for a foot more space. With the interior being the biggest issue he even wants the rear seats to be able to recline like the dodges too.

Tell him "good luck" from me, at least. Hope it turns out as good as he imagines. :thumb:
