About ready to install the down pipe. But before I do that, I wanted to get feedback regarding using copper gasket sealer for the steel gasket seal.

Do you need to seal the steel gasket with copper seal?

Also, and feedback on putting locktite on the screws and nuts that go on the down pipe?

Regards

It would help to fill out your signature with the year of your truck and mods to it. You should not have to use anything on the steel gaskets.

Bottom/middle screw was the most difficult to break loose. Did not need special tool. Used a regular 3/8 socket wrench with a small cheater to break it loose. I used my foot to break that loose. MRBP instructions read to pull stock down pipe through bottom after loosening trans dip stick tube. Tried and failed through bottom. I brought through the top and installed new down pipe through top as well. I chose to buy a drivers side dip stick tube instead of stock. That install process will require dropping front drive shaft and loosening/undoing the wiring harness. Just being able to get the dipstick tube in there was a challenge and you will find that you will have to bend the ears on the tube as well. Getting the ears back into place and securing was somewhat challenging as well. Did not like placement of down pipe. It may be due to the fact that I installed a 4 inch BRP exhaust while I was there. The clearance from the exhaust to the transmission lines are less than an inch away. Not too fond of that.
