I think that going to come to an end soon unless Trump dialed back the restrictions. IIRC that why GM built the new 6.6L gassers.

Yeah worked on a 2018 HD suburban the other day. Everything minus body looked to be from the 00-2006 year range. It had a 6.0L and 6L90 in it. Not direct injected. So that was a plus. But I think GM really missed out not producing a suburban with a diesel in it. So many customers have asked me over the years if they’d ever do one.

Ya they need to at least make a model with the same diesel the 1/2 ton has if not a 6.6. And more gears in the trans. The 6.6 gas seems to suffer compared to the Ford 7.3 gas with its extra gears.

That said I will never own another Chevrolet with its current front end design. Most hideous thing I’ve ever laid eyes on. GMC is tolerable at least.
