i would get new rule book, that should have current info. one of the safety equipment companies stuff is getting decertified. speed rated tires have more tires tested in the dot test cells, worked in tire plant and they used a steel wheel about 8ft in diameter by about 3ft. they could run 4 tire assemblies( tires and rims) yes, they bought various rims just to test them. tires had to go mph/miles and move up scale, then they would adjust tire speed til it came apart. they actually had a list of what mixer/mill/tire machine and tire builder that would build a run of special tires. spend the time and money, a blowout at those speeds can do more damage than you would think, we got to fix the dot cell because a milspec humve tire came apart at 200mph,think about 4tons load applied.
