Many thanks to many people
I posted this on CompD and decided to do it here as well, some of this Rob and already posted.
The drag racing season is over for us, Rob took the truck and raced it in the Halloween Classic in Boise this last weekend. Racing in the pro division of brackets against fast gasser both door slammer and dragsters. He and Nathan had installed the triple CP set up that Nathan had fabbed up this past summer because we are losing rail pressure toward the end of the track with the bigger injectors we now have in the truck. Unfortunately, Rob couldn't get the line from the third cp to seal and instead of taking a chance and fuelling down the track and giving diesels a bad name in front of all those gasser he worked most of the night and put the dual cp set up back on.
Track was again cold and slick he got it sideway on the first pass and still ran 140+ in the low 10's. He did manage a burnout for the next pass and ran the 9.80. We need more work on the suspension and a line lock so we can do a decent burnout to at least heat the rear tires. I'm not sure if anyone got a video of that pass, I sure hope so.
It's been a great season for the Max'd Out Racing. We we started down this road almost three years ago, I said I wanted to build a street legal truck that would run in the high 9's on #2 only. That we were able to do it the first year we got it running still amazes me. The fact that we did not have any major problems or catastrophic failures is also incredible. I guess you could debate if Max'd Out is street legal, but it's licensed and we have driven it on the street some. Not a grocery getter or soccer mom vehicle however.
Not of this would have happened without a lot of help for a bunch of people who I'd like to thank.
Steve Cole at TTS. Supplied a bunch of the engine internals and lots of advice and support.
Guy Tripp at SoCal Diesel. Engine heads, oil pump Dampener and numerous other parts along with support and suggestions anytime we called.
John Cerimele engine builder, The fact that the truck survived almost 80 passes without any major engine failure at around 1100 hp speaks for itself.
Steve Opocensky "Opie" at Intelligent Engineering Opie tranny parts, MITUSA lift pump, fuel cell and lots support and good suggestions.
Don M at "Formula 1" Injectors. The absolute best injectors made.
Suncoast Converters and Diesel Transmission Duraflite transmission was absolutely bullet proof. We had almost 80 passes without one issue.
Idaho Diesel Power Steve, Russ, Rob and the rest of the gang, without your help we would not have made to the track for at least another month, we owe you guys a lot.:rockwoot:
Buck and Jess Spruill for their help setting up the Duraflite
Trent Nell and Jeff Dean for help with the suspension
Rob Rule of Signs Now for the great graphics on both the race truck and race trailer.
Chuck at Charco Manufacturing for all the welding on the race truck, drive line loops, race seats, window net and the rest.
Obviously none of this would have happened without my two great partners Rob Coddens of Adrenaline Truck Performance and Nathan Wright of Maximized Performance Inc Rob's tuning and wrenching and superb driving and Nathan for his incredible compound turbo and Cp set ups.
My very heart felt thank you to all of you. Now on to bigger and better things in 2010.
