0.010 to 0.015 above bore as I understood it . I used B gaskets on mine .

0.011 . I hope I measued right . ;)

Thought about going with c's to be safe but used B's and prayed I measured right .

LLY stock cut lip only pistons with a 0.020 bore in my motor .

Gaskets are the only clearance from heads and valves .

Crazy to think about . Tight tolerances in all the motors .

Screw this up and it is devistating .

I guess I did it right ..... still running .

Texas!!!
The chart that Henry posted has max piston projection and what gasket should be used with it.

Hey Josh, please elaborate. Do these cylinder temps cause that much more valve growth? Surely there's not that much valve toss.

What I am about to type is not my idea nor my theory only one I found from another member and below is how I understand it which may differ from its' original intent.

Due to a poor design on the valvetrain bridges, there can be up to .050 of movement. So that would take someone who set there valve clearance at say .100 and turn it into .050.

I thought it was "up to +/-.050" depending on how it was adjusted?

I used the billet one piece rocker bridges (from DPR). I wonder if these help with this since the rocker arm tip is not riding on the insert? I did not look at these that closely before we put the valve covers on.

I believe Banks used the same setup on their dmax truck project.
