Gotta question for you guys. My brother has an 04 gas 8.1L/w the Allison 5spd.
The transmission just went out. Any idea on what a complete rebuild kit would cost with installation? I was going to hit up Evan at Inglewood, but they are closed.

Doesn't Inglewood have pricing on their site that will give you an idea of what it would be?

Kind of strange than an 8.1 would junk an Allison? A completely stock rebuild and labor I'd expect a few grand

I looked on there site. But I think they all say diesel. I think that would still work though. The trans seems to not want to go into gear, basically feels like neutral in ‘D’ and ‘R’ then it slams into gear. Fluid is topped off. Thought it might be the external switch. But that seems fine.

Those kits are meant for extra power, stock overhaul kit you can usually source for under a grand

Yes typo. I'm sure if it's not something you're wanting to tackle Evan could do a 100% stock overhaul. At that rate it might be something simple anyway
