I have been a drag/street car guy until now. I like my 10 sec cars but just too much of a hassle to keep them streetable and enjoyable so I built up the dmax

My question is. Is it common to manually pull truck to a lower gear when wanting to stomp the pedal like I would in a street car or just leave alone in drive and let trans do the rest.
thank you

probably easiest just to leave it in drive...the allison is completely electronically controlled (and shifted), so its not like the trans is going to react instantly to you moving the shifter and its not like its going to shift to exactly what gear you select immediately.

The Allison will upshift and down shift when the computer tells it, not when you decide to move the shifter. The best yo can do is hold it in gear with the shifter.

What is the intake air heater delete mod that you have listed in your signature and did you pick up any power?

You turn off the iah with efilive or something similar, and then remove the heater. I didn't notice any jump in power really but it has to help Haha if you search it there is some photos on here about it

Well I noticed a little better spool up when I first did it but I had no mods at all on truck. So it worked then. The heater is located below your map sensor on intake housing. I bought a cummings diesel drain plug and plugged the hole where the heater was.
I did not use efilive to delete it. I left it plugged in then threaded lightly into a 7/8 china deepwell sockeck and then hose clamped it to my steel upper rad hose that way it is still grounded and works so the computer wont throw a service engine light and I can easily install it in winter if need be.
