This truck is going to cause me to loose my hair! Ok, running ppe manifolds and single up pipes. Up pipes are wrapped. My 4094 was cut for hx40 dp and is identical to the cheetah and s400 as far as fitment. My problem was it's a tight tight fit so I GENTLY flattened a very small area and the fit was not perfect but it worked. Stay with me here, had the shop re-rebuild my trans. They removed the DP and apparently had issues getting it back mated to the flanges. They beat the living S4!t out my DP making it just about half the thickness. Ok my question. Anyone running a hx40 dp with ppe manifolds and up pipes? If so please enlighten me on how much, if any, you had to massage the DP or what did you have to do to accomplish good fitup?

Hope that makes sense............ I'm so pissed right now idk if it does. This is why I never like anyone touching anything on my vehicles.

All s400 series down pipes are tight as chit. On mine it would touch the sound/heat mat on the firewall. When I built my motor I removed it. I have maybe a 1/8 of an inch.

I'm running profab manifolds and up pipes with an S400 from fleece, I have werhli fab downpipe and its is perfectly round, also werhli fab pedestal and it is the HX40. no dents and no clearance issues. it is close to the firewall but just touching the insulation. I also have the drivers side trans dipstick for the ally hope this helps. I didn't dent the firewall at all or the pipe, the pass side up pipe was somewhat oval from profab.

I didn't dent the firewall but very slightly flatten the dp. I mean at 1/8 at most. I am hitting the up pipes but nothing else. They beat the living crap out of it trying to clearance it. It's tight but I didn't believe all that hammering is needed. Can't tell much from the pics but it's literally mashed down to 2". uploadfromtaptalk1442450202761.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442450289356.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442450358849.jpguploadfromtaptalk1442450387513.jpg

Haha, yeah. They will be replacing the dp. Talked to gun earlier, apparently his guys done it during the r&r. Yeah the clamps not on all the way lol.

I did do my trans, been I to it more than I care to. On test drive stripped the c2 at 38 miles. Sent it to him to do because I ran out of time. This truck is possessed!

Do you happen to have any pictures of the downpipe? Curious to see it on the truck and the back of the turbo. Wanna see how it differs from mine.

If it fit the first time there's no reason for them to alter it. Enjoy the new one on their dime.

True it did but it wasn't a perfect fit. It is very tight passing by the up pipe. I want to see the difference between mine and others like the throat of the dp at the turbo, stick out from the housing to the v band flange on the turbo. Things that may affect fitup. I'm thinking I'll need to add some to the throat to push the pipe closer to the firewall and further from the up pipes. I'm running a drivers side dipstick now but had a pass side at first so I have room to push it back. Basically I'm saying the engine tilts backwards, and the up pipe dog legs the down pipe, this makes it tight to the top mating surface and the bottom is gaped. I think I'll repair this and have them foot the bill on a new down pipe.

Sure I can take some tonight. I was pleased with how well werhli's stuff fit. no sealing issues the HX40 flange mated up perfect. course I had the cab off but it fit really well. clear the uppipe by just enough to get the heat wrap by and touched the fire wall insulation and that's it.

This is the one I have. The throat is a tight 90 down. Different down pipe or either space mine out.

I just found a couple pictures of the engine on the stand and mine is not as tight of radius as yours coming off the turbo. I wonder if the werhli fab pedestal puts the turbo farther forward. I know the center of the hot housing is about where the cowling rounds upward just below the plastic by the wipers. I'll post these pics.

It's definitely a different pipe. Looks like it stays 3.5 then flares out near the bottom before it swells to 5" I assume that is. Mine goes to 4" fairly quick. Does it go between the fire wall and the up pipe or over it then down?

your right it is 3.5 up to 4" didn't think of that. it is right between the uppipe and the firewall. but hell it fits good. I doubt that 1/2" is going to make a difference.
