Appreciate the info guys, I'll post up once I've put it together. Not going to do the hydraulic line/crimps though. I'll do the thread in fittings that build your own hose. This way you can repair the hose or fitting with an extra if something happens. Never seen one leak in desert racing that wasn't a self inflicted problem

After my fleece lines failed in a short few thousand miles, I used this hose with summit brand ends and have been trouble free

500psi and 275°

https://m.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-240015BP

That's the same exact hose I had nothing but problems with. It was pretty much a guaranteed thing that the hose going from the trans to the cooler would start leaking just in front of the AN fitting after everytime I towed heavy and trans temps exceeded 200(according to allison the fluid leaving the bellhousing going to the cooler will be 80-100 degrees hotter than sump). I could go for months and be fine, but every trip with the camper in tow ended with leaking lines.

Hey james when your done can you post a picture of your mounting location? Like yourself i want to keep the cooler out of the engine bay. Thanks guys.

I'll keep an eye on it but I haven't had anything trouble in the last year and half or more. Temps have been 200+ many times at the track making WOT passes without issues. What fittings were you using on it?

the air to oil cooler isnt moving out of the cooling stack. i had a custom radiator made by Ron Davis that is a dual pass so both my inlet and outlet are on the passenger side of the radiator with a block off plate half way up that sides radiator tank end. This means the trans heat exchanger wont be able to stay on the passenger side and must be moved to the driver side. i need longer lines for that.

the heat the trans cooler gives off isnt my concern. yeah the more you can take out, the better but its not enough IMHO to change coolant temp. the heat exchanger in the radiator is adding more heat than the external cooler is.

Keith black AN fittings. I could go months with no issues, but everytime we hooked onto the camper, I had leaks in the hot side line at the AN fittings. Thought it was over tightening the fittings maybe, so I stopped pulling them down so tight. The next time it started leaking about a 1/2" forward of the fitting, so thats when I replaced them. Haven't had a leak in over 5 years now.

They do say not use cutter style fittings with this hose. Not sure if yours were or not.

Went to the local hose and fitting place and got all the stuff for my new lines, and went with Parker 836 its a Push lock hose 300 degrees and 350 psi. Decided to make a few adapters for the radiator.

Nice cooler and install. What is the ID on the fittings? They look small. You don't want to bottle neck the flow.

All the cooler lines are -10 the inlet into the cooler is a -12 ORB that has a -10 adapter in it.

So one interesting fact is the ports on the bottom of the Allison in the Kodiak are -8 thread. The radiator is 7/8 14 so -10.
