Making trans cooler lines

So the new radiator will require me to extend the trans cooler lines as the heat exchanger is on the driver side now. i dont want to use all rubber lines like the deviant setup or others like it. i would rather cut the crimps off the factory steel lines and use compression fittings on the lines with hose rated for the temp and pressure the trans sees.

question is, the compression fittings im finding are only good to 280psi and hose is only good to 300psi. right now, mike has my pressures above 300psi and i know the coolers are prone to seeing spikes to 300 or more. has anyone found a compression fitting rated above 300psi and a line rated above it? If i have to, ill get a weld on an fitting and have it TIG'ed to the stock steel line, compression fitting is just easier if there is one that will work.

Yes i know i could go with the DHD or the like and have them make me extended ones but id rather make the lines here so i can run them how i like.

You can get steel compression fittings that will work from a Parker fitting and hose store, but I have been buying steel AN/JIC spud fittings and TIG welding them onto the line. I also have a couple of fittings I use to pressure up the line with shop air to check for leaks.

You will not see anything near 300 psi in the lines. Normal flow will be about 82 psi with an occasional spike up to 200 psi max in the lines.
The cooler circuit is separate from main line and is regulated by the cooler regulator valve in the stator support.

I always wandered about this. Thanks for the info. I've seen people use heater hose and work gear clamps, so I didn't think the cooler lines had stupid hi psi

I used dhd's threaded fittings for the trans and cooler and then had hydraulic lines made to my liking to relocate the cooler on our puller

Why use compression fittings that could over time cut through your hard line? Cut the line, flare it, then use a flared or an connection. I STRONGLY reccomend you look into RUSSEL's high temp AN hose, or get hoses made by a hydraulic shop. I had nothing but problems with the black AN hose that was supposed to be good to 280 degrees.

Yeah the hose is perfect for a 37* AN Flare its 5/8ths so simple flare to female should be good to go for making lines that are part hard line and part soft.

*Does anyone know what size the adapters are on the transmission? I put a 1 1/4 12 point on there and it was too small. I wonder if it was the 12 point or if its really bigger.

Third on that i had nothing but problems with them on an old machine at work. Chasing leaks from vibrations all the time.

Also james do you mind posting what you end up doing parts wise. (Im going to R/d your setup) ripoff and duplicate your setup because i i tow and comite in the same conditions as you.

Cut my hard line section right after the 90 bends and I welded steel JIC fittings to the ends. Had Napa auto crimp me up 5/8" hydraulic hose with the correct JIC ends. Ran about $80 for everything.
