Main seal installer

Has any had any luck installing the front and rear main seals without the GM tool? I can't see spending the money for something I would almost never use but if I have to I have to.

I'm not really really sure if I can or not I never thought of that.

I built my own , and have installed at least 20 of them with out issue . But you have to have a way to make a "ring" with the right ID / OD , lathe , plasma cutter , or even a torch could work if you cut it big and ground by hand to get it the rest of the way . after you have the rings I just welded some exhaust tubing to it with flat bar across the other end for a area to strike .

get a piece of pipe the same size as the metal lip on the outside of seal and tap it in,if it goes into the outer cover then a piece of wood works too,lay the outer cover flat and tap it on
