Hey guys need some help. Rebuilding an 2015 lml that had cracked pistons. Got a set of mahle motorsports pistons part # 930036055. After installing a few found that the crank counter weights are hitting bottom of the pistons. Where did I go wrong or how do I fix. Thanks Anthony

Rods a little short? How much are the pistons coming out the top?
Rods looked fine. Haven't measured piston protrusion but looks less then stock. Can tell you pin height on these mahle pistons is higher than the stock lml pistons and more material under pin than stockers

930036055 is advertised as a stock replacement. You might call the selling vendor or Mahle and see if they understand why you would have a problem like this. You have checked to make sure that the pistons oriented correctly? I'm sure you did, just had to ask.

Yes triple checked pistons. Was my first thought but fortunately unfortunately there on right.

Id doublecheck the rods c-c length. But----could Mahle have mis-labeled the set?

I belive they did cause the pin height is higher towards the top then the lml pistons. The mahle ones are closer to lbz pistons. Also if you look up basic stock replacement pistons from mahle they say 11-16 not 01-16

I have seen this. I'm wondering now what they mean by fit lml lol. It fits in the hole but stops after that. I feel I'm missing info like fits lml if you run different rods or crank.

I could only think to measure the rods here. Does every rod and piston in each bore contact counterweight or just 1,2,all?

I've installed several sets of Mahle Motorsport pistons in LML motors without a problem. Possibly you got a set that was machined incorrectly or you have something else going on.

Well dam looks like time to pull rods back of and make some measurements

The lmls you did used lml rods and crank?
Do you remember how close the skirts came to the counter weights? The ones that don't touch on mine still look Uber close

I did use stock LML rods and crank. I didn't measure the distance, but I know they didn't touch.

Well just measured piston protrusion. All where between .004 and .007. Put an old piston on #2 rod that has .012 protrusion where he mahle piston had .005. Old piston misses crank by a mile

Was the block decked? If the rods truly are short, I don't see how you'd still get .012" protrusion on the stock piston. When Mahle lists them as -.010 CH I believe it's taken off the top, not by relocating the pin
