Just finished adjusting tune. The readings before adjusting was around 53gr/sec now its at 41gr/sec. Im still getting roughly 5 pounds of boost at cruise speed so might havr other adjustments to make as I thought I should only be making like 1 or 2 pounds since its still the stock turbo??

Numbers look about right.

Calculations go off of what your current MAF reading is. Doing it by a formula method doesn't work nearly as well.

Not to resurrect an old thread. But curiosity asks if the MAF is off, and everyone suggest a % increase or decrease, can someone clarify the way to go in direction of that percentage, or clarify in terms of what to do...

I am new to Diesel tuning but know Turbo Gassers and scaling Mafs and doing percentages, just confused on the way to go in how it was explained earlier in this thread. Logic says if the Maf is reading high in G/S then you would scale it up in percentage? Some stated they had an issue with it reading low say at 30 G/S, so you would scale it down in percentage? But what got me confused was that they scaled it to read stock numbers again... I am just confused by this statment...

I guess I am just asking for clarity

Thanks in advance

In efilive if you select the table for the maf and use the %- or %+ to adjust the whole table up or down until you get the air flow at idle you would expect to see, which is close to 40 g/S. So the high end will raise or lower much more than the low end due to adjusting it by precent. At least thats how I take it

Thanks. Clarity on which way to go depending on reading? If its High, add percentage, if it's low, decrease percentage or is it visa versa? I think it is the way the data is represented in EFI Live as other tuning suites I have used...

THanks again

What ever direction gets you to 40 g/S at idle. I think you have it right. Increasing the table should drop the reading

If your reading is low, increase the table.

The only reason to steer away from factory readings is to help clean up the smoke (lowering your parameters) or to boost low end fueling (a high MAF reading). Obviously too much in either direction will create too much smoke or turn it into a turd.

So you want to adjust the whole table when adjusting the maf? Mine reads around 34-36 g/s at idle and I’d like to raise that up.

If your reading is low, increase the table.

Thank you, much appreciated. Don't know why I am struggling on this one. I am assuming lets say, if readings are a consistent 35 G/S I want to do the math and get the percentage difference from 40... So 35/40 gives you a 13% difference, so you would want to raise the scaling by 13% as an example?

Thanks in advance

That would get you very close.

Hit the nail on the head first try... It hovers between 39/40. Cleaned the Air Filter to just to make sure we were clog free...

THanks again so much for clarifying things.

ALso for anyone else reading up on this, the table specifically to change is the "MAF FLow Rate" table only.

I switched over my stock intake tubing and air filter to an AFE unit, that looks to be about a full inch larger the entire tubing and necks down approx .5 of an inch as it enters my S&B Elbow. We will try these settings for a bit and see what happens.

I rescaled mine just a bit ago. Makes a huge difference. Nice little pep off the line now.
