1.60 60' is considered "mild"???

Trent what type of lock-tite are you using to seal the cups, and are you using new cups and o-rings each time? How long are you letting them sit, etc?

IMO your only option from now on is LLY+ heads or threaded/welded cups. Provided the cups were installed/seated 100% correctly, it seems the billet hold-downs arent clamping them tight enough. :(

Nice runs though, cant wait to see what she'll do when you crank it up. :thumb:

Any video?

i strongly dissagree with that statment, as i have stated about my miles and use this year, i also have 112 passes, 34 dyno pulls and all the street racing i do, and not one cup issue yet, not trying to get in a battle here with anyone, but i run just as much boost and power as the next guy and i have been solid for years in the cup area? Those are good questions tho, what type of lock tite, and time sat is very important, as well as do you put the injector in the cup and lock it down all together or wait till the lock tite seats then put the injector in later, they all need to go in at the same time with the 70 foot pounds holding down to set the seal?

vids coming , for my truck a 1.66 is a fairly mild launch ,, I am pulling my heads this weekend and sending them out to David at DTS to have the aluminum cups welded in next week .

hey trent were the billet hold downs on your truck for that run?? Im not sure where your cup prob is coming from man, i have 14,300 miles on my engine this year and not one cup problem or pressure issue yet, my hold downs are 5 years old and running, im setting them to 70 foot pounds if that helps, red lock tight, and oil on the cup o rings for pre lube?? im sure you already know all this but sucks your having all these cup probs?

I am not sure either , I didnt have one problem last year , ran the full season with stock hold downs , I have tried Red and Green lock tight so far and always torque the hold downs immediately , each time the truck sat for over a week before firing and several heat cycles before going under load, and yes the Billet hold down were on and the heads were fresh out of Randy's each time so were very clean and inspected by him . After talking to David it seems most trucks he's seen like Matts , once they pop one once real bad it happens a lot easier after that , neither one of us know why .

Thanks for the advice , not much different than ive been doing but appreciate the help.

pretty sure matt has his on now. not sure how hes dong as i didnt see his name among those at topeka
If you're talking about Camomax Matt, he was there, but he didn't have his truck. He was running the Bone Shaker car. He said he was going to have his truck at a race somewhere this weekend I think.

What does the seat where the cups seal against look like? Mine was ate up pretty bad from the heat and would not seal for sh!t. Curious if you're heads have deteriorated in that area as well.
My aluminum cups have arrived. Time to get back to work again I guess. :D

Ill take some pictures when i get them out this weekend and post them up in my other thread . but 1 of these heads was replaced from my last failure, it was just another used one that was ported and rebuilt to match the last set , the one on the drivers side was re-used but needed to be milled from being warped .
