My block is at the machine shop now getting done.hot tank,line hone,cylinder hone key crank/mag, balance and assembly of short block for 1k.I supplied all parts.
No torque plate but its only getting a light pass,I got a smoking deal,friend of a friend kind of thing.His pricing is fair but I wouldn't get that deal twice.
Schied does his engine work. Btw Mallory cost about 100 a piece. Avg crank needs 15-25 pieces plus labor. Now way your is internal balanced and engine work and assembly for the price you said.....I'd check it out if I were you.
They did his short block when I brought mine into them, John was the one I spoke with and recommended me to them. It was internally balanced I asked them multiple times and even on the phone I harped on it. I'll see if I can find the paperwork to prove it.
Like Wade said Mallory alone cost more then $1000. If yours is internally balanced you got a great deal.

Mine was around $2800 for align hone mains, deck block, torque plate hone, gap rings, mag and polish crank, external balance, hot tank, etc with all new bearings with only shortblock assembled. That was just short block. E
Wow way less than I expected from most of you guys. Hoping my cost is going to be near the same numbers.
My heads alone up here to replace all the guides in one head, 135# springs and clean and check the straightness of the head was $1100 alone.
