Just checkin to see if any progress has been made with making the EFI software work in the Mac OS platform.

I agree that it would be great, but I don't believe that there are any plans to do this.

I run Parallels when making tunes etc, and Bootcamp when flashing.

I've been running EFILive using Parallels and Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro. It works great. So, although it would be cool to have a native Mac application, it's certainly not a show stopper for we Macheads. :D

Booooo! Down with Windoze!!!!! Woo Hoo, Mac!!!! :thumb:

i agree support for my mac book would be great but probably not a priority because it can be used through parallels

If you are to broke like many of us are, there is Virtual Box (free), which is the same as Parallels and although I have not tried to use my EFILive with it just yet I have no reason to believe that it would not work. Good luck and I'm all for the MAC!

Apple provides bootcamp for free, I just dont like the idea of messing with it.

My EFIlive only POS old dell is pretty worthless and I plan on using my current macbook to replace it.

I like having a cheap EFI only laptop to keep all my tunes and stuff safe and virus free. Anyone know where I can buy a cheap copy of XP or whatever OS works best and most reliably with the EFI software?

Parallels and Virtual Box, run all you windows stuff, you just don't have to do a restart to get to those items.

A program called Refit makes using bootcamp a little nicer (nice boot menu at startup asking which OS you want). I run this setup on my mac book pro, imac and mac book air. Simple and works (free as well).

I also use a cheap notebook for my efilive software. However, I would like to be able to use my Mac to build the tunes and then transfer them to my notebook. Building tunes on that tiny notebook sucks!

Even though I have a MacBook, if EFILive were to venture outside of Windows, I'd rather have them do Linux.

Linux will run on old cheap notebooks and boost the performance. It will also dual-boot on pretty much anything without affecting the original Win install.

But pragmatically, Win computers are 90% of the market, and are cheap. A $300 notebook runs EFILive just fine. My #1 tuning note is now 7 years old. I also have a small $200 netbook for track use.

But come 5 years from now, most "notebooks" will be tablets. Whoever owns that sector of the computing world will be the next giant. It's not likely to be Microsoft. Their Bloatware philosophy doesn't do well with low power portables. I'd rather not see Apple as the Giant, as they have historically been pretty lousy at allowing competition to exist. Android/Linux machines hopefully end up as the giant since it will foster competition and innovation.

I kinda have the same setup except with a 5 year old core duo notebook for logging because of a bigger screen size and a lenovo ideapad s10-2 for flashing since the battery lasts for what seems all week and it's not much bigger than the v2. And it's pink lol.

Id like to see android support for EFI...logging with my herotab would be cool

+1 on that.
