MAC intake/IC lines/N2O

I wanted to add these to a thread that we had rolling from last year couldn't find it via search (beginning of the end...).

I primarily posted these for Turbo, he's working on intake and IC stuff for his truck I thought these may spur his imagination further. They are a little dated (July) but atleast they are pic's and everybody at Team Salad loves pic's...

I know these appear to reflect a TON of work left on the truck, again these are older. I won't let the bottles roll around the back of the truck with the dog....:rofl: I plan on 2 progressive stages and one manual for tickling and track conditions. The picture reflects 2 bottles, but ended up being kinda hokey, I'll put all 3 bottles behind the seats.

I added another "kick" to the 4" line pre cooler so it "squared up" nicely, the intake actually looks kinda rough... it cleaned up nicely. When i do the next one I'll prolly create some sort of "1 into 2" set up so i avoid the short side radius issue. It doesn't stick through the hood... I left the throat long so i could measure the cut point and tie it into the IC side.

Truck ended up sitting lower than i thought!

correct, same footprint and cable locations so i used these to fab. The mount i made allows me to remove both batteries at the same time or slide them for and aft (few inches) for weight, or use only one, or slide both to one side or the other without any additional holes.

May never get that critical but it's an option. IIRC together they weigh 70 lbs? so long as they don't fall out going over the local freeway expansion joints i spose it works.

This is the best i can find at the moment...

This is from the top looking in, the short side is a perfectly crappy 90*... only it's 4" ID

When i looked at the stocker i didn't see the short side so much as the fact the air had to hit/smash into the bottom of the Y then tumble into the heads. Thinking really simply about it, I thought I wanted to make the bottom of this part better flowing, thinking it would help low end response and the charger can deal with the radius and any other resistance.

I don't know much, this just looked better than the stocker.

I hope to get to it his weekend, been different economic gig this year. Usually i have a 2 wave year starting in February tapering off in May and hitting hard again in late June early July with the push to black Friday (Nov 26th).

Not a really big push second half of the year, house is ready for cabinets....i am REFRESHED and ready for some FEAR! Nothing like getting out of a car/truck so fast it leaves you shaking... so fast you struggle to keep it off the curbs.

I NEED A SPEED SALAD!

The head side flange is from a stocker, only hogged out and reshaped to get me closer to 4" ID inlet the rest is all hack (me) :rofl:

BEWARE, anybody who wants to do this! the flanges are not in line, across from each other, they are offset. It's not much but it's there. You have to set them in a jig THEN cut the middle of the Y out and fab your new peice in.

Make sure the jig wil replicate and hold head angle, head distance and stay square. The gasket on the bottom is not very forgiving... if you try and take a surfacer to the flange to "get square" or change the angle... the part will be short and you can toss it in the round file.

No i didn't make it, I wish i could do that!

I bought it from a company in So Cal (PSI? PFI? google PSI or PFI) when i was doing the research, if you wanna call it that. This was the baddest boy on the block, it appears you have found a MONSTER yourself, in that link.

It had a scratch... think i gave $700 for it. 4" in and out, efficient, and could move a ton of air, 2000 cfm IIRC. The radiator was $70? it's from a VW, dual pass, SUPER efficient, compact, lots of mounting options, prolly overkill for my GPM.

I spent some serious time on the revised hood latch/center core support... that's all me. No hack on the grill to get the barrle behind the grill.

I remeber you saying that about the hood latch,I was thinking of putting it on the PS of my motor since there is a ton of room there

Also not sure if im going with the rad or not,I do have my A/C condensor that i know would fit up front or maybe just a trans cooler in the box
I would like to get the water box and either use ice or c02 to cool the water....hmm
Ice and water would be heavy though,but I can stand to ghain a few pounds

Nice cooler, locating the exit to fit your lay out creates a ton of options and a custom deal. Mounting on the pass side is a good idea minimul bends and easy to get into the top end. A small rad could almost mount to the bottom face with an electric fan to cool the H2O. Nitrous ports on the cooler pre H20 to get residual cooling... ton of options.

I am so simple minded... all i think about is letting the air go straight, forgetting we are dealing with FORCED induction, it ain't that big a deal.

Are they (cooler) expensive?
