Are they any good? went to the track and basically just spun thru the 1/8th.
60ft times sucked, 1/8th wasn't much better.
2.3 to 2.6 60ft
8.77, 8.85, and 8.90
ran a on/off full throttle run pedalling in the 1/4 of 13.26@110mph wtf!!??
need traction and I guess I need to get the tune set to spool up quicker-kinda medium to hard pull of the line from a 2000rpm brake until just after the 60ft and WHAM the turbo kicks in all 4 tires light and it sits you back like a sledge hammer hit you-but I still have to pedal and tap the brake to keep it from spinning. I know with the speed it should have run a low 12 and if we get the traction/pulling sooner it will be low 11's. Maybe, eventually a 10.90 thats what I am shooting for anyways.
Any help from those more expirenced wolud be great-
And did I mention I was scared stiff and shaking because I didn't want to break this guys truck--he didn't get to show up so I had to do it-All I kept seeing was dollar signs blowing up:rofl:
Thanks, larry

what psi were you launching at ? on edit it says 2000 it sounds like your leaving under the charger , and on the traction i need some help to with 60 ft tuning and traction. but in order to stay on top of the turbo a higher stall launch will be needed but as with myself if i launch higher traction gets worse , i think mine is from overfueling at launch if i watch vids i can see right after my launch the speed that the smoke is coming at drops and then picks up again and clears out . my 1/8 mile has always been weak compared to my 1/4 .

unfortunately being by myself I didn't even get to log anything-I was very unprepared. I basically went to test the launch and the 1/8th times but it spun so bad I couldn't get a handle on it be useful. All I can go by is feel, sorry. I just felt like it should have launched better and the turbo kick in sooner. I am going to play with the tune and shift points and hopefully take it out again in 2 weeks with a co-pilot to log some info. It has 35" bfg mud terrains on it and I was looking for the best slicks to run on the back with some good street tires on the front.

not really a bad problem to have... traction that is.

Haven't heard of anybody having issue with the M&H slicks. I can share with you the taller the slick the deeper the tire patch, most lean towards the shorter tires for a better 60'. If your blowin 'em out on the charger, think about a taller slick, IMO you need more "patch" not more "quick". Sounds like the charger will overcome the leverage/weight. Hoosier is making a 34" slick for a 16" rim IIRC, plenty of sidewall in that size to soften things up a little.

Good luck!

Wouldn't suggest slicks out back and streets up front.

gotcha i thought you ran on the slicks  def need some logging and a vid really helps , not nec to solve it but sometimes it shows what you cant feel . like if the front is lifting hard , tires toeing in , when the charger lights ect . i will be doing alot of testing on tuning, some front end parts, ect i will let you know if i find some usefull info . my new rear suspension set up helped alot just not quite enough yet before it i was 2.0 to a ocasional 1.8 60ft now most runs were 1.8* and a single 1.74 . but what can expect with a blown rear locker , that is the next fix for me .

M&H make a 33" I believe its 12" or 15" wide. Should we go slicks all around?
Thought it might get kinda hairy on the top end without a treaded tire.
What about the cal-trac setup. would it help any with traction or is it mainly for looks?

Yes, you would want to go slicks all the way around :D and launch in 4wd :D

Even the little M & H drag radials would work all the way around and go on stock rims :D

Here is a whole thread on Drag Radials

Edit PS- I have gone 10.59 in Casper and never once have I felt unsafe.

I launced it in 4 hi. I am starting to believe the trouble I am having is mainly because I am holding back due to the fact its not mine and I can't afford to replace anything I break. I guess in 2 weeks I will try again.

I can understand your concern. In that case have the owner race it

:( Hope she gets better soon.

There is even a better idea have her drive it ;) Since we don't care if we break chit, since we don't have to fix it

Nah I just got back in the office. Had to go home so someone could show me how to use my new pool equipment :baby: I will ask Pat the question when he gets back in the office. Just listened to the voice mail.
