Hey guys, got a question.

Are the heated/power seats stand alone or tied into the BCM. Im assuming they are not standalone. So In theory I am wondering if you can remove all of the system components for the seats, will they work. Does the BCM need to be reprogrammed. O is it just not gonna work at all.

Also wondering, if a truck does not have BOSE, again if you remove all of the system components, will it work with a simple reprogram of the BCM.

I could be wrong on the BCM too, maybe its a different module. I could go dig through my manuals but I figured id check here first.

Thanks

Thus far I have determined that the full power heated memory seats can be adapted into any vehicle providing the heat/memory switches, and the Seat Control Module are installed with them. From what ive gathered, constant 12v power is fed into the Seat Control Module and the Seat Control module does the rest. The Seat Control Module also communicates with the scan tool via Class 2 Data Link Communications.

Put simply, the LT/SLT memory seats are their own standalone system, and will work in an LS/SLE package with a few minor modifications.

I am going out to the truck to start tracing everything down in the truck to see if my assumption above does hold water.

Im also looking into the Bose system too, but this topic will require a little more digging than the seats.

Doing some more digging it looks as if the Bose Audio system could be installed if the components are installed with it which would include the amplifier and radio. The single CD radios can be programmed to run the Premium (non Y91) Bose systems IIRC.

From what ive gathered the steering wheel controls are the only part of the system that communicate through the BCM. I am sure that these could be made to work with some reprogramming of the BCM, but I am doubtful that many GM mechanics would know how to do this.
