There's several lowered 4wd trucks here, I doubt you catch much flack about it. ;)

How does the different control arm lower the truck?

Most importantly, I wanna see it when you're done because I've been considering it myself & it sounds like our trucks are identical. :D

The DJM a arm has different geometry for ball joint so its not under as much stress. I was gonna use a spindle but you cant run a 16 wheel im planning on running 22's but if i ever need to put my stockers on for something i would be SOL. Anyone have the spindle is a 16" wheel impossible or can you make it work with a spacer or something somehow?

17's are almost too small for the spindles.

lowest my belltech spindles will allow is an 18"....and even eyeing it....gonna be damn close.

Hence why I have the DJM drop arms in the garage rdy to go.

They are beefy as hell and it comes with new bumpstops....

I'm waiting to throw em on to see if you need drop shocks for em.

I've got both spindles and drop arms on my truck. I only have the arms though for the better ball joint angles. I would suggest doing the spindles if you're tossed up between the two. Then get a set of H2 wheels to run if you take the 22's off.

The spindles will keep your geometry set up much better. I've never had any issues with my arms other than the shitty ball joints they put in them. Change them out for MOOG units now before you break them like i did.

I'm not running shocks in the front. I'd run some adjustable Rancho's though, this way you can dial it in.

Yeah thats what I have now, was curious if the lengths were the same, hate to bottom em out and bust them.

Looking at the arm directions, says their shock is required, but we all know how that is sometimes.

Well i don't have shock b/c i'm running airbags. I ran stock shocks in the front when i had it dropped 3" and never had any issues.

When you say upgraded, do you mean a different length?

This is my djm 3/5 drop. I'm also running 9000's. Very happy with handling so far. Done some testing on back roads and like it a lot. Most likely will strap front down for the track though. I took the measurements for the shocks from djm's site and matched them the best I could with the ranchos. I personally think they should be shorter. Only have about 2" of compression before it bottoms out. However thats also where the suspension stops so .? Good luck, you'll be happy when its done.:thumb:
