ok guys i was trying to put my drop shackles one and get the leaf pack out so i can hammer the bolt on the leafspring out its siezed. so i figured i would take the whole pack out but you can get the bolt out on the side with the fuel tank someone said cut it but where should i get a new bolt can i just get a grade 8 bolt that fits or what

I cut about an inch off the end of the bolt by the fuel tank an then I loosened my fuel tank straps enough to where I could move the tank to one side and slide the bolt out.

Drop the tank alittle bit and you can pry the tank away from the frame. You'll have enough room to get it out, just squishing the tank alittle.

With the help of my good friend Josh Chambers (chambersj on here), I lowered the rear of mine about 2 more inches last night. It now measures about 4.75" between the top of the tire and the top of the wheel well opening both front and rear. While we were doing it, we also raised the shackle hangers a couple of inches so they don't hang down below the bottom of the roll pan. I'm not sure if anyone else that has a roll pan on their truck has noticed it, but it has always bothered me to see the bottom of those ugly shackle hangers sticking down below everything. It looks so much better now. It also rides much better. I highly recommend putting the front spring hanger brackets in. I'm posting a pic, but please try not to pay too much attention to how filthy my truck is. I don't have much time during the day to wash it, and my weekends have been pretty busy lately.

Cut the rivets, removed the hanger, drilled new holes 2" lower, cut 2" off the top of the bracket, bolted back in with 1/2" grade 8 bolts. I also had to cut the top 2 holes off my shackles because they would have been into the bottom of the bed.
