Anyone do a drop kit on the rear (2-3") and still use firestone air bags to hold up a load??

You can't use the ones that mount between the frame and the axle. You have to get the ones that mount outside the frame.

I was thinking about welding in a crossmember of 2'' square tubing, and running the bags just inside the frame rails. I have an unusual trac bar setup outside the rails, just above the springs.

I'm also going to run my bags with a small reservior attached to each one, I'm hoping it will keep the spring rate from ramping up as travel is used.

I'll have to look to see where I can relocate them. I bought shackles to drop it 2" but can't lose the airbags. Didn't know who had already fabbed this up.

I small reciever would definitely help with the pressure increase during spring travel when the bags are compressed.

I'm interested in the same thing. What brand air bags do u have? Is there room to move the top bracket up the same amount as u lowered the truck? Post some pics of what u endup doing.
