between normal driving and light towing over the pass last weekend with a completely unideal setup, ie. big turbos, filled block, etc i didnt see oil pressure dropping lower at 65 or idle honestly.

Realistically, can the oil even get hot enough to loose noticeable oil pressure because of it thinning?

Yes.
Before I did my oil cooler and I was cheaking my oil temps I took a trip over parleys with the boat on a hot day and held speed and rpms as consistant as I could from the bottom to the top.
My oil temp went from 225 to 283 and my oil psi dropped from 38 to 25.

Update. Motor is back together, this time with a melling pump. Oil is where it should be stock, going to try a different weight oil next oil change and see how much it improves. This motors twin did the same and picked up much better pressure.

I just built my motor. New oem pump is at 19-20 idling with engine temp at 190. That's with 15-40 delvac My mains are just a hair over .002. Not sure if the oil holes in rods matter or not. But like stated above. Main clearences have a lot to do with it.
