I have an 06 3500 LLY. I have been getting a low fuel rail pressure code 0087 while pulling a heavy load. The truck has a power performance tuner in it. Pump is fine. Could a lift pump fix this problem?

Yep. I chased that problem for 2 years. Ended up being the injectors were returning too much fuel causing high fuel temps. Thus the p0087.
Mine would fall on its face and set codes,until I found out the tiny filter in sending unit was almost plugged.I put in 5\8 pickup and lift pump ,everythings good now and much easier to diagnose all the other fun stuff you will be having to fix.
I had the same issue after tuning mine, shimmed the FPRV still did it. Got a lift pump and it's been good for 20k miles. I'd get a lift pump before doing injectors. Even if it turns out to be injectors it won't hurt to have a lift pump for the future!
