Well unless you tune for it most tuning has lower fuel in the lower RPM

if you want more boost you need fuel but that sounds normal to me:)

I have a 2003 LB7 and stock I get about 12 psi boost and with Banks tuner I only get 15 - 16 psi if I have it on 6th power level and Hauling 10k +. My truck has always run like this and it can S*IT and Get If I stomp it.

I know it could run better and have a lot better power and acceleration when pulling if I could get the right boost. My wish has always been to get the ATS Aurora 3000 turbo but that is not in the budget... What is wrong with my turbo? Just going out?

Its not a turbo problem. Get a ppe boost valve and efi live. Then it will s*it and get it. Buddy had an aurora and I wasn't impressed what so ever.

Check your boost tubes for leaks. The lb7 has a few spots that are prone to rub thru and leak boost...

I have the PPE boost valve and it only gave me a pound or two in boost... Efi is soon to come after I can work up a Thousand that I can throw around. (I also have banks Big Head wastegate)

I am a newer Hot Shot Trucker and I just need to make a few more long hauls to build up my truck.

Do you have an suggestions for turbos that spool before 2000rpm and can push 30+ psi? I am pretty jealous of the other models with VGT and VVT turbos that can spool at the slightest touch of a pedal. Like my dads LBZ is a beast.

You don't need both. With a BANKS big head there is no reason for the PPE valve to be used. You may need to adjust the big head as that could be causing your low boost. Stock boost should be roughly 18-20 at stock fueling after the intercooler. With a bighead it should be capable of hitting 30-32 if you have enough fuel to do so. Anymore than 32 is a waste and pushing your stock IHI outside of it's comfort zone. And a good EFILIVE tune can really wake up the stock turbo. I have no complaints with mine being laggy per say. it doesn't spool as instant as an LBZ, but I have yet to hear somebody say it's a slouch off the line. Stock tuning was a different story.

Of course you all were right. I cranked that wastegate up 5 turns and now on my towing tune I hit 26-28psi at max throttle.

Thank you guys!

Mine hits 32 and all I have is the ppe valve. My first turbo I had I was pushing 35 and the turbo took a dump. Like you said anything over 32 is outside its comfort zone.

I have the same problem. Mine only shows maybe 16 on my gauge which is plumbed into the air intake heater spot. I have full intake and efi live single tune. I just had the boost tubes
Off and I couldn't see anything wrong with them.

I didn't get gauges before I added the banks big head but I bet 16-18 is about what I was getting. Try getting the ppe boost valve its cheap and easy
