Ok so my 07 lbz has been makin a loud hummin noise, I'm not positive its the transmissions but the noise gets louder as I shift gears an then it cuts out when I go in 5th an 6th. I've checked for codes an there aren't any. I have changed the transmission fluid since bought it used 30,000 miles ago. It has 132000 now. It seems to always make the noise after the transmission gets over 180. I don't know what to do.

What about in tow/haul? Does it still make the noise in 1st through 4th?

yes it still does it in tow-haul.. and its a 2007 3500 dually, lbz with banks six-gun tuner, banks ram-air air intake, and 4" exhaust. It may not even be the transmission, i think it may be my thermostat i'm going to replace it this weekend to see if it stops.

anywhere from 190-210... i thought it might be the fan but its so loud i figured it wasn't, is it supposed to be that loud? Wouldn't it still make the nosie while its sitting idle? this is my first turbo diesel i had a 90' 7.3 idi before this. I'm going to feel pretty dang stupid if its suppose to be that loud :(

Id say its your fan, theyre ridiculously loud when the fan clutch engages. And no, it shouldn't do it at idle.
