Reminds me of a joke:
"how many people went to college? How many of those people would like that money back to pay bills with right now?" :D

So my hard work in college for architectural engineering isnt paying off here in Vegas, and I really dont want to move to another city (although I have been thinking about Chicago since its pretty big into Architecture).

Since I am not working full time figured I'd pick up a degree in something separate so I can choose 2 fields and not be locked into just one. So...I have chosen to go into IT (information technology). Also see if I can move up through the CISCO certs.

I have dabbed in Network Admin, and liked it and have always had a thing for computers (computer science anyway lol), and especially like the networking side of things. So I figure might as well kill time in school instead of sitting here worried about what the future holds. If I knew things would have been this bad I would have went back long ago.

I really need to get an Architectural job so I can finish my IDP and sit in on my test to become an architect, but that seems to be on hold for just about everyone in my field here in Vegas, well just about any construction field lol.

/cool story bro

wish you luck mike! gradutated last year with a BSBA in management and Computer information systems. Spent from the time i gradutated till last march tryin to find a job with either of those and didnt really have much luck till march where im now the assistant mamager ofr a caulking mfg company. everyone one i was applying for wanted people with work experience in the field (management or CIS) till i got this one. Im not makin bank but the company is small i can really grow with them, its also great to have the CIS knowledge as im savin the company money. It ought to come back and look good come review time :D.

Either way, i dont think you can go wrong. Our society is becomin so reliant on computers anymore that the demand for guys like you and i and others will become more and more in demand. It just may take you a bit of time to find a place to get into. hell id start searchin for places now and letting them know your takin classes for the most up todate stuff

Yea I doubt I'd go there, Everytime I have gone it has been in the winter and the snow/cold there sucks. And X2 on toll roads lol. The G/F is from there and family all lives there so I have been there a few times now. Maybe I'll visit there sometime in the summer. I think its a neat city though, and like all the architecture and history there.

Great thanks. Ill look into talking to him. Whats he do?

well if he still does the same thing he was into networking computers and hosting and stuff. im not IT savy so not exactly sure. i know he does a lot with survalence type stuff. he used to work for the company that did all the traffic cameras in town. i do remember how happy and proud he was when he got all his CISCO certs though.
