Haha, Evan I posted here so i didn't blow up your phone and here you still are. Thanks for chiming in.

It did NOT include the converter, my bad on that earlier. Ill go back and edit it.

How far out are you on appointments? I'm ready to roll as long as you take plastic.

Any contributions as far as what I should be looking at? IE Turbo's and pairings with what build etc. How about your in house converter running with a stock charger for a year ish?

I stay about 3 weeks out lately it's a month. The converter would work great even with a stock turbo. Feel free to call me and we can go over options for everything.

Thanks rigger. I had kind of assumed he'd be using his in house regardless, so good to know. I can ask him when we meet, only a couple text messages thus far, but in your opinion will running his in house converter on a stock turbo be fine?

As far as power, I don't care about specific numbers much, not trying to make weight or anything, just unlock some potential that's held back by some of the remaining stock equipment. This thing is a beast already and im relatively unconcerned with numbers vs how the truck drives, feels and ages. I want a shit eating grin every time I throttle down. I'm a seat of the pants guy, so if the turbo lights appropriately and the transmission holds and shifts well it won't matter if i'm sitting at either 550 or 600 or anywhere in between. My goals do not include a full engine build until it needs a rebuild, i'm hoping I can get away with headstuds only for a few years or 150kish miles, is that realistic?

I know the answer to this one, YES! Evans Limitless tc is the way to go with vgt chargers. Absolutely loved the way my lmm runs with his converter. Great with stock charger and great with modded vgts as well.

Let Even build your trans and get a port and polished lly turbo from yellowchevy. When I do another lmm or lbz this is the route I'm headed. The tuning is easy with the lly charger and they will make more power than the stock internals can handle. Plus, drivabilty is like stock, with any 68mm there is considerable turbo lag and turbo brake is nonexistent and egts go higher...
Turbo brake in my 68stg2r is awesome

Yeah, don't do like me and do the twins (or big single) before the transmission. That lasted about a week if that.

Hahaha. Definitely trans first. Gonna speak with evan tomorrow or monday and chat but i'll probably go forward with his TC planing for the eventual big single. Hopefully the stocker suffices with some more aggressive tuning in the interim. Thanks for all the input again, i'm a bit over my head and would not enjoy making the wrong choice.

Mark is only a 2,000 mile round trip when the time comes :)

Ditto, I have a LLY turbo from the last engine I parted out, just don't know if I'll live long enough to do it...

Thanks for the input. I went with kory for tunes based on his forum fanfare and his reputation. At the time I didn't realize an autocal would lock me into his tunes. I assume he's still considered a top notch option after trans and turbo? I would rather not have to pay extra to switch tuners.

I read for about 6 months and waited another 6 months till I found a used V2 and had THEFERMANATOR script my tune, never looked back on the V2 purchase and have a whopping $650.00 in a DSP5 and single emissions tune. I also have an older laptop with Windows 7 used for the EFILive only. The tuners can still "lock" their tunes so you cannot open them but still leaves you the option to use other tuners. You can have your Autocal unlinked but that makes your previous tunes unusable...

The single tune is a just-in-case later when not if Maricopa County Az. upgrades the emissions testing here. 2017 is going to be start of some major changes in how the EPA and CARB enforce emissions across the country and it's not going to be testing but included in safety inspections and look to California as to some of the tactics used now. I can't count how many post' I have saved from here and other sites as to some of them....
