Well Wife got rearended today. Pretty positive its totaled. Wife had just picked up the daughter from day care and was on her way home. She was stopped on the highway waiting for cars to turn onto our road and BAMM. Young kid hit her at full speed, no skid marks or anything.

I'm pretty leary at his story, seeing as the first thing that came out of his mouth was "I wasn't texting or anything".

Everyone is ok, took the wife to the hospital just to be sure. Just some soreness. Daughter cried, think it just scared her, she started showing some small bruises on her legs..EMS checked her out at the scene.

Car seems to have handled the hit pretty well. Could have been alot worse.

Rear quarter panels are rippled, spare tire area is pushed up about 10-12 inches, suprised it didn't burst back window. rear door is creased in the middle. Pushed rear drivetrain up about 3 inches.

I was able to actually drive it the block and half home. Think it bent the driveshaft, cause it def didn't like it lol.

Just glad I waited to put new tires on it now lol. So we will be in the market for a new car.

glads the wife and daughter are good... it doesnt take much speed to do that much damage now adays

there are so many other things that cause distraction besides cell phone... biggest thing have to deal with daily is complacency while driving/ not paying attention to what going on around your vehicle...

Pretty convinced he was looking at his phone, the part of the road they were on is straight and flat for about 2 miles. And nothing but empty cornfields on each side.

But yeah people don't pay attention at all.

Had some jackwagon try and merge into my lane while taking her to the hospital....never looked, just signaled and went. Its pretty hard to miss a CCLB Dually if you look.

yeah i hear you on the long straight away.... could have just been day dreaming

what is scary............ when they do that on thier bikes/motorcycles to 75' long semis .......... being a driver i have to have a long fuse about this shit  i have contemplated putting 2-3 cameras on the truck... people seams to have forget that you are to yield to the traffic in the lane you want to get into....... IDK how many time i could have gotten a newer truck from some dumbass PIT'ing their vehicle off my front bumper

Glad the family is ok John,If you suspect he was texting and let the cops know they can get the info from his cell company and tell if he was.

Around 10 years ago the dog got loose and my wife was driving slowly and there was very little traffic, had the flashers on 2 lane rural highway. The kid was at a stop light heading out of town it was that last light for 15 miles.Rearended my ZR2 S10 around 55 60 miles an hour no skid marks at all.He told us his aunt (also his insurance agent) was going to kill him because he was in an accident the month before for the same exact thing.

Glad to hear the family is ok. Looks like the little CRV handled the shot pretty well. We got the wife a new GMC Acadia a few months ago. It's a nice vehicle, drives and rides very nice and lots of room. The only thing I don't like are the blind spots you have while driving it. I guess I am just used to my truck and the visibility you have driving that.

Glad everyone is OK. Yes texting and driving is a major issue today. If the Police look into it if they feel it was the cause of the accident they can and WILL find out no matter what the driver says. They probably wont investigate considering there was no serious injury's although.

Not to long ago we had a young girl texting and driving hit a guy at a light on a motorcycle no brakes nothing slammed right into him and yes it killed him. she'll be going to jail all because of texting and driving or searching the INTERNET!

Sorry to hear about this. But looks like the honda held it own well. My vote is go back to honda but get the pilot. That's what my wife has been eye balling and now that we have a little girl on the way I'm sure I'll be moving into one sooner rather than later!
