a 30-40 HP tow tune wouldn't hurt that stock tranny would it ?

yes it will while towing. specially if that trans has any sort of miles on it as im sure it does.

There are two big factors in this post, first is below

I'm looking for a tune that doesn't require me to upgrade everything on my truck. Keep the stock turbo and Just give a little more umph... ANY SUGGESTIONS?

he doesnt want to upgrade anything/everything. a 5k trans is out of the picture.

Second is below

We pull a 42 foot 5th wheel for our job

Thats a ton of weight even empty.

you add any power over stock on any 5 speed allison and it will be lights out for it much sooner than later. Stock is the only way its going to last and not kill it. you can do the simple mods like exhaust/intake/intake horn/etc as you are not gaining hardly any more power and MIGHT drop a few degrees off the EGT's.

We might be a performance site but we are not uneducated people recommending everyone to tune their junk and beat it into oblivion like i know a few other sites do or the FB warriors.

Chevy 1925 , this has all came at the wrong time. It just seemed like water pump and intercooler aluminum pipe replacement (I think that's what it is) that had a hole rubbed in it for 1600 dollars was really high that's all.. I'm just out of town and the Chevy dealer was about my only option that I had.. Like someone said if it's all good, no issues, he will be my new best friend... thank you for the input...5700 dollars later I should have a new running truck I hope.

Im definitely in the wrong line of work if I could get someone to pay me $1600 to replace a water pump and a drivers side IC pipe on an LB7.

If I were you, Harold, Id start learning how to do your own maintenence work.

Right? I get the people who complain about me charging half of that for the entire job (parts, labor and coolant). Of course they have a change of heart when they call the dealer..
