I have come across a one owner red crew cab 2016 2500 gmc sierra duramax with 68,000 miles on it and the asking price is $48,000. I texted my buddy for the info and to see what the bottom dollar on it is. Waiting on a text. Im thinking of offering $38,000 for it and see what he comes back with. I guess im kinda checking to see what the thoughts on that price are.

What is the trim level and options? 4x4? Is it an individual or dealer selling?

I doubt they'll take 38, but somewhere in the mid 40s maybe more reasonable.

I had originally thought about 40k once i hear back from him. I had a 2013 sierra duramax a little over a year ago and i am kicking myself for letting it go. Thanks guys.

I would keep looking. Buddy of mine got into a 16-high country 4x4 cc 78k miles for 32k. It was clean

I know in my area, and probably in most areas, gmc’s are priced substantially higher than chevrolet’s. I guess thats just how it is.

i think your buddy got lucky as hell.

17-18 trucks from a private party are still going for 5k less than a brand new 19 out the door from a dealer here. My buddy spent about a month hunting, looking and shopping all the deals he could for a clean, optioned out, low mile L5P. 16s are around what your dealer wants as well.

That truck with a 6 liter truck is worth more than 32. He's not telling you the whole story.
Anytime I hear some story like this, I think maybe they had equity in their trade or money down. Then they brag about the price paid when its actually the amount they financed, not total price paid.

I paid 40k for my 15.5 with just under 80k miles on it. It did have some cosmetic damage that had to be addressed, and would have cost the average guy about 5k. I spent 3+ months looking for a deal and most dealers don't budge an inch on crew 4x4 duramax. I also had a harder time because I only would buy a long bed.

46 to 48 seems reasonable considering new they are 70+...

Maybe the 20’s but the 18’s and 19’s were in the 60’s fully loaded. Gm just added 10k to the price of them to make it seem like you’re getting a deal when they take 5k off the sticker.

Yup, you can get a fully loaded high country 2019 out the door for 64 all day long here. Denali is 66k, loaded ltz is 62-63. 10K in rebates makes a difference.

Well i went and drove the truck. We didnt even get to the price part because i didnt “fall in love” with the truck. Ill get back on the search. I have thought about looking at other brands but i have always been a GM guy and have owned an lml once before, so i am going to stick to the GM duramax search.

I'll get the full scoop in a week when the sales guy gets back from vaca, I'm pricing out a new work truck. So far the best price on a cclb gasser 2500 worktruck package is 36k

There’s a really nice white 2016 Chevy in NC for sale. Cloth interior but all paint matched and looks good. 30k is miles and I think it’s less than $45k

Im in deep east texas, probably a little too far for me to drive. Lol
When my gf finishes school we are getting her a tahoe or yukon. I have found that those and trucks are almost $10,000 cheaper in Florida than they are where i live, so we will be flying to Florida to get her a new one.
